Sharon Keller is a native Kansan.  She has lived on both the east and west coasts and overseas.  However, her first experience in moving a 2 year old toddler, a dog and a cat, back to the United States, had its challenging moments.  Downsizing from the house that her daughters had grown up in, brought some of the same new experiences and challenges shared in this book.

For the past 18 years, Sharon has been assisting families in moving their households.  She found it didn't matter whether they were moving across the country, or across town because each move had its own share of challenges for the families--especially the children.

Sharon looks at these moves as an adventure.  However moving can be stressful for everyone--even the pets.  She hopes the real life experiences condensed into this story will help make your next moving adventure a great one.

Sarah Jane Keller, whom the main character Janie is named for, teaches third grade at Manchester Park.

This book is dedicated to Sharon’s mother, who taught many young people that reading was very important.  She also want to dedicate it to her daughters, Dawn and Sarah Jane, who encouraged her to write this book in order to help people, no matter what their ages, in their moving adventure

Janie's Friends are Moving!

By Sharon Keller

Moving can be an adventure. However it can be stressful for everyone. Whether you are moving across the country, or across town, each move has its own share of changes for your family-especially your children.

Sharon’s book is full of practical advice on making your move as stress-free for the kids as possible and hopes the real life experiences condensed into this story will help make your next moving adventure a great one.

During the process of writing her book, local author Sharon Keller made sure she got to know her audience — elementary-age children — and even involved them in the creation of "Janie's Friends are Moving." Two former Black Bob Elementary School students illustrated the 24-page book, and one of Keller's young relatives previewed the manuscript before it was published.
